CLB Pilot is operated by ZHU YANDONG, who is responsible for the personal information described here. Contact: support@clbpilot.online.
The short version. You sign in with an email address. Your recording is analysed in your browser and the audio file is never uploaded to us. What we store is the transcript text, the score, the numeric speech measurements, and your order records. We do not sell data and we do not use your answers to train models.
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Email address | Sign-in, receipts, service notices. There is no password. |
| One-time sign-in codes | Proving the mailbox is yours. Single use, expire in minutes. |
| Practice records: transcript text, task type, duration, estimated band, written feedback, speech measurements (rate, pauses, pitch range, voiced ratio) | Showing your result and your progress history. The measurements are numbers computed in your browser — no audio. |
| Order records: product, amount, currency, status, timestamps, payment provider reference | Delivering access, refunds, and accounting. |
| Technical logs: IP address, user agent, request time | Rate limiting, abuse prevention, and diagnosing faults. Retained briefly. |
| Preferences (language, transcription on/off) stored in your browser | Remembering how you like the app. |
One exception worth knowing about: automatic transcription. If you switch on voice-to-text, your browser's built-in speech recognition sends the audio stream to that browser vendor's speech service (for Chrome, that is Google) so it can be turned into text. In that case the audio leaves your device, but it goes to the browser vendor, not to us — we only receive the resulting transcript. You can switch transcription off at any time and paste your transcript manually instead; the practice and the scoring work exactly the same way. This is disclosed in the practice screen before you record.
Because our server is in the United States, your information may be handled there. We choose providers that commit to contractual data-protection terms, but we cannot promise that foreign authorities will never request access to data held by them.
Email support@clbpilot.online from the address on your account and we will, within 30 days:
Deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription by itself — cancel it first (or ask us to) so you are not charged again. We handle personal information in line with the principles of Canada's PIPEDA and, where it applies to you, the GDPR.
Traffic is encrypted with TLS. Access to the server is restricted and key-based. Sign-in tokens are short-lived. No system is perfectly secure, so we keep the amount of sensitive data we hold deliberately small — which is the main reason audio is never uploaded.
The service is intended for people aged 16 and over. If we learn that an account belongs to someone younger, we will close it and delete the data.
If this policy changes materially, we will update the date above and, where the change affects what we collect or who we share it with, notify account holders by email.
